Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael, better known as Zlatan Ibile, was born on December 19, 1994, in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. He is a rapper and singer, and the CEO and founder of Zanku Records. He was raised in Ilorin but has family roots in Ijurin, Ekiti State.

In 2011, he graduated with a National Diploma in Business Administration from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic.

1. In May 2019, he was arrested by the EFCC in connection with an alleged case of internet fraud and money laundering. However, he was released on administrative bail a few days later.

2. In October 2020, during the EndSARS protests, Zlatan released the song “Soro Soke” to express his concern over the massacre of innocent youths at the Lekki toll gate. 

3. Also, there has been a legal dispute between Zlatan and DJ Cuppy, the daughter of wealthy businessman Femi Otedola.

The controversy started when DJ Cuppy claimed that Zlatan had blocked her on social media without explaining why.

 In an interview with SoundCity TV, Zlatan claimed not to know who DJ Cuppy was, which sparked more controversy and curiosity among their fans.

Davido’s manager, Isreal Afeare, then revealed the cause of their strained relationship, stating that it was due to money. He claimed that Zlatan was not properly compensated for his collaboration with DJ Cuppy on the hit song “Gelato.”

A video was leaked online showing Davido and Zlatan discussing how DJ Cuppy’s father and friends shared money from a fundraising event but did not give any to Zlatan. This sparked more controversy and criticism of DJ Cuppy. 

In response, DJ Cuppy threatened Isreal Afeare with a lawsuit for libel and defamation, stating that she did not owe any artist money. Davido commented on her post, writing “TULE,” meaning “free me.”

4. In addition to this controversy, Zlatan has also faced accusations of fraud from fast-rising Afrobeat singer Mayowa Bae.

Bae claimed that he paid Zlatan N200,000 for a music collaboration in November 2018, but the rapper has yet to fulfill his end of the agreement.
