Abimbola Oladokun well known as Bayanni (formerly Zhenoboy) is a Nigerian Afro-pop singer and songwriter who rose to fame in 2021 when his cover songs went viral on social media.

Born on June 25, 1997, in Lagos, Bayanni was raised in a family that instilled the Christian faith and moral values. He attended Excellent Schools in Lagos for his basic and secondary education and later studied at Obafemi Awolowo University.

Bayanni’s Career

Bayanni’s love for music started at an early age, listening to different genres of music like Pop, Soul, Fuji, Highlife, R&B, and Afro-beats. He joined the church choir and honed his singing and composing skills. Bayanni started writing Afro-beats and Afropop songs and improved with constant practice.

He began playing music in his dorm room and his parents’ house before establishing connections with record producers in Lagos and Ile-Ife. Bayanni effectively managed his time as an undergraduate student by balancing his studio work and studies.

In August 2022, Bayanni signed with Mavin Records, a prestigious record label owned by Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy.

Bayanni’s single “African Beauty” was created by Blaise Beatz and mixed by Michael Synx, with the visuals shot by Pharouk Damilola Films. The song gained a lot of streams and downloads, as well as his other singles, including “Ballerina,” “Duro” ft. Frescool, and “BMW.”
