Ekeh Chiaka Joseph, professionally known as Majeeed, is a talented Nigerian Afropop singer and songwriter. Born on November 28 in Lagos, he hails from Imo, a state in the southeast region of Nigeria.
He was raised in Ogun State after relocating at the age of eight. Majeeed received his primary education in Lagos and his secondary education in Ogun State before attending Iscom University in Cotonou, where he earned a B.Sc. in mass communication.
Majeeed Career
Majeeed’s music journey started in secondary school, where he used to save money from his mother to visit the studio.
He began his career as a songwriter for Seyi Shay and released two promotional singles, “Gee for Life” and “Rocky Lo,” featuring Seyi Shay in 2020.
In 2022, he produced his first single, “Time,” at Harrysong’s house and released it as the first single off his EP, “Bitter Sweet.”
In the second quarter of 2021, he signed with Dream Empire Music and was part of the line-up for Felabration and Buju Live in Concert.
His breakthrough single, “Yawa No Dey End,” released in 2022, was co-signed by Don Jazzy and Tiwa Savage and quickly gained mainstream success.
