Early Life and Education
Adekola Tijani was born into a polygamous family. At the age of three, his mother relocated with him from Oyo to Lagos State, where they settled in the Agege area. In 1983, he enrolled in Oyewole Primary School. Subsequently, after completing his primary education, he returned to Oyo and attended Ansar-Ud-Deen Grammar School in Opapa, Oyo.
Career
In 1992, immediately following his secondary school education, Tijani had the opportunity to join Prince Seyi Adeoye’s theatre group. During this period, he crossed paths with Olaniyi Afonja, popularly known as “Sanyeri,” and both of them started their careers as stage performers, specializing in floor shows. They embarked on numerous tours, performing in various towns and cities.
In 1996, Tijani and his friend Olaniyi Afonja decided to relocate back to Lagos to further their acting careers. They continued their journey as stage actors and later transitioned into the world of home video movies.
One of Tijani’s notable achievements came in 2009 when he produced the Yoruba comedy movie titled “Kamilu Kompo,” which became a resounding success. The movie’s title quickly became one of his famous aliases. “Kamilu Kompo” featured veteran Yoruba movie stars such as Olaniyi Afonja “Sanyeri,” Adebayo Salami “Oga Bello,” Peju Ogunmola, Shola Kosoko, and Saidi Balogun.
Marriage
Adekola Tijani entered into matrimony in December 2007 when he tied the knot with the love of his life, Kuburat Tijani Temitope. Their union has since been blessed with the joy of parenthood, resulting in the birth of two children.
